Meet Gluta…The Happiest Dog In The World That Beat Cancer

You can’t have a bad time when you look at Gluta’s smiling face. This cheerful (and extremely photogenic) pooch is currently living a pretty awesome life. She likes to frolic outside with her human, Sorasart Wisetsin, and fellow canine, Gollum.

When you see her so happy and healthy, you might not ever guess that she actually had quite a rough past.

Wisetsin found Gluta as an abandoned stray on the streets of Bangkok. Wisetsin was living in a dorm at the time that did not allow pets, but the pair would faithfully meet in the parking lot everyday, where he would feed her.

It became evident that Gluta was suffering from some medical issues. Wisetsin eventually nursed her back to health. Gluta was diagnosed with metritis, which led to the removal of her uterus, and then it was discovered that she also had cervical cancer. Luckily, after a year and a half of laser surgeries and chemo, she was given a clean bill of health.

“Her sad eyes turned to shine brightly with cheer like never before,” says Wisetsin. “And from now on, there will be only smile[s] on her face.”

Today, Gluta accompanies Wisetsin on his travels, along with Gollum, and gamely poses for pictures. She also has the highest tolerance for accessories of any dog we’ve ever seen.

Wisetsin would like to remind people around the world to look out for stray animals and, if you can, to help them out.
