Danny Perasa, a horse-betting clerk, and his wife Annie, a nurse, went to StoryCorps in 2004 to recount their twenty-seven-year romance.
As Danny and Annie remembered their life together from their first date to Danny’s last days with terminal cancer, these remarkable Brooklynites personified the eloquence, grace, and poetry that can be found in the voices of everyday people when we take the time to listen.
