“So one of the students came with her kid, because she didn’t have a babysitter. The kid starts to cry in the middle of the class, so his mom, all embarrassed gets up to leave, and the professor took the kid from her, calmed him and continued teaching.”
Clearly this is a man who knows the little boy’s mother is doing everything she can to better her and her child’s future. Good for him!

Oh Wow what an incredible. It’s so wonderful to see a man who takes his job less seriously than he does the welfare and well being of his students. Obviously a loving family man.
I love your blog. It’s inspiring and uplifting in a world so full of negativity and persecution. You never hear about the good in people like you do the bad so Thank you for making sure some of us get a taste of it every day. xoxox

This warms my heart. I am an adjunct professor at a university full of adult learners, and I’m the working mom with three children (albeit two are now adults). From time to time, a student of mine has needed to bring a baby or child to class, and I’m only too understanding. Bless this teacher, the parent and the child.

This story is so refreshing. The professor offered a life lesson in something very important. Helping each other is a greater gift of community than class decorum. The story and his fatherly kindness will be echoed around the college and internet.

Reblogged this on life through rosy glasses and commented:
It is so easy to get annoyed and lose patience when something interrupts your line of thought and indeed very difficult and a sign of great learning when one continues with his passion even in the face of obstacles and no interruption is enough to lose sight, temper and patience.

That’s the sign of a learned man , whose learning is not just from the books but from life.

Yes, good for him. Here’s clearly more teacher than mere professor.
