The mainstream media would have us believe That the world is a bad place.
They feature, in the main, Events that are sure to make us feel gloomy, fearful and less hopeful for the future.
But we, just like you, know that there is another, far brighter side to life because we regularly see it in our own lives….We see the wonder, intelligence, gentleness, kindness and beauty of our fellow humans.
There is so much good out there. So much love. So much compassion.

(2) A brave man marching out to sea to rescue a beached baby dolphin.

(5) A brave police officer handcuffed himself to a woman who was trying to commit suicide, saving her life.

5 minutes into the ride the man got so excited that he urinated all over himself and Tully. Tully sat there soaked for the rest of the 40 minute hay ride. As soon as it was over he changed the mans clothes before his own.

(29) In 2011, a car crashed with a motorcycle, trapping the motorcyclist underneath the car. The wreck burst in to flames. Ignoring that the wreck could explode at any second, a bunch of people rushed in to work together and lift the flaming car off the guy.
The teamwork and selflessness of these people risking their own lives for this stranger is so very moving.

(31) Japanese rescue worker pulled a baby (unharmed) out of the rubble after the 2011 earthquake/tsunami. Look at the smile on his face.
(32) ‘Tank Man’ is the nickname of an unidentified man who stood with great courage in front of a column of tanks on June 4, 1989, the morning after the Chinese military had suppressed the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 by force.
(33) This interaction between a Guatemalan girl and a tourist she just met, shows their shared happiness and humanity.

For context, Libby Clegg is a blind runner, and runs alongside a ‘guide’ runner to keep her on track. It’s a difficult discipline, as the guide has to make sure not to lead so that it is the runner who is competing.
Such a joyous image of what people are capable of when we let go of our prejudices – a white woman, a black man, one blind and one who could see, working together in total harmony for a higher goal.

He was still sleeping soundly when the photographer got off the train 20 minutes later.
