Ayup.
Although, for the sake of being kind, I like to theorize that she was simply so overcome with excitement about being that close to the ball, that she didn’t realize what she had done until later.

Oh – how terrible. She should have just left it for the little girl.
But – in the end – the kid got a better deal anyway.
