A little girl and her family launch a sky lantern or khom loy -as its known in Thailand- during the Yee Peng Festival in Chiang Mai. By releasing the lanterns to the sky the Thai people believe they are sending kindness and goodwill to humankind. This festival has been taken place for around 700 years in the North of Thailand.
