What a great idea! In Ottawa, recycled kindness meters collect change for the homeless…

Just to be sure that I know what I’m looking at here, these are old parking meters, and the city has converted them to ‘Kindness Meters’ that people put their change in that is then given to the homeless, or a shelter or organization which helps the homeless?

Hi 🙂
This is what I read about it…
“While walking around the market district of downtown Ottawa, yesterday, we came upon something called a “Kindness Meter”. It’s a parking meter that’s been reassigned to collect small donations for services that help homeless people.
The sign reads “The money collected in this meter will be given to community groups dedicated to providing services and resources for the homeless.”

I think that’s an awesome idea! I wish they’d do something like that here. Maybe I’ll write a letter and suggest it.
