This man with Alzheimer’s couldn’t remember his children, his home or anything else. But whenever he saw the woman he married, he’d say, “Look at my beautiful wife”.
My grandmother died with Alzheimer’s… and that is absolutely amazing. They must have been together a LONG LONG time, for her to be a part of the memories that remain. They must have known one another their entire lives.
And it’s a huge blessing for her, because she’ll never have to feel the pain of loving someone who used to love you but has forgotten you… it’s painful and tragic.

Such a scary and sad disease in my eyes. The idea that you can be forgotten by someone who you are deeply in love with is…chilling 😦
