“While swimming in isolated waters 300 miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, David Valencia spotted this 35-foot female whale shark ensnared in a line six inches thick that was digging into her skin and, given the growth of anemones and gooseneck barnacles, had clearly been there for a long time.
