Finding Kindness Outside of Survival Mode
by Kylie Riordan
Kindness goes beyond the act; there is sacredness to it. When performing an act of kindness you are admitting that you are one with another soul. In that moment you are putting someone else first. You are thinking with your heart and soul. Kindness helps you to remember that essence of love that you were inherently built from and connects you to the divine.
Looking back on your life you may remember a time where you felt connected, where you felt at peace. Kindness tends to come naturally at these times.
Sometimes kindness doesn’t come so easy. Human life is built on survival. A need to make sure we make enough money to fit into society, to live. Living in the survival mode doesn’t allow much room for acts of kindness to grace life. When living in the survival mode there is a fear that if you are not looking out for you and yours, you may lack what you need to survive. This is scary.
What if the very act of kindness allowed survival to be guaranteed? What if acting from a place of love allowed for the sacred to enter life? Aligning with love allows for life to flow and helps to develop a trust with the universe. A deep knowing that all of your needs will always be met. If trust exists there is a feeling of safety.
Now how do we develop the trust that is needed so that we can continue to shine our beautiful light and bring generous amounts of kindness to our lives and those that we have the honor of touching? By letting go. Take a step back look, breathe and release all fear of survival to the universe.
A clear example is camping. When camping you need very basic items, a tent, some clothes, food, something to light the campfire and a few other essentials.
Nature has a beautiful way of showing us that we are truly gifted with everything we could possibly need. We don’t need to live in a survival mode.
Once you feel that you are safe and provided for… let the trust encompass your entire being and watch as the kindness gets to spread to others… from you. Feel the amazing ripple effects kindness has on your life. Your life will forever be changed.
We are connected to the same source of divine love and light. We are one. When you are kind to another soul, you are also being kind to yourself.
You may need to start with baby steps. Baby steps lead into big adult strides. Miracles can be found in baby steps.
If we all made one act of kindness a day, world peace would be one step closer. Kindness matters for your health, for your emotional well-being, for your oversoul. It opens your heart, connects you to God & brings peace into your life.
Wishing you an abundance of joy and peace on your journey of kindness. Notice every moment. Feel the energy and love with all of your light and Let go…
We all thank you for your contribution.

What good posts you have on this blog!
I adored this one particularly as I’ve long applied this very principal to my life. God’s economic laws are completely contrary to those of the commercial system. My husband would scare me giving money away to those that were in need even when we couldn’t pay our own bills.
“It’s an investment,” he would say, God will give it back with interest.” God always did, in fact even with a bunch of little kids we prospered till in the end, my faith encouraged by his, I too joined God’s economic plan – it’s a lot nicer way to live!

Great post…it is so true. It is really difficult to break out of “survival mode.” But when you do…life gets some much better even though you don’t physically have much more than before, you have an emotional abundance…

Thank you . It is when one lives in the survival mode that one experiences the joy of giving . Have experienced it in my own life . There is no fear and no attachment to anything . we human beings come into this world with nothing and would leave this world with nothing .

Kylie, I love this post. I’ve been thinking about our society’s survival mode a lot lately. I especially like your ideas about nature. There are many times where I’ve been contemplating survival when I look out my window and I see thousands of leaves, blades of grass, and spacious land. It’s become a daily message and reminder that we are truly surrounded by all that we need and could ever desire.

A post that carries a deep meaning on how we don’t have to be in survival mode in life every minute – we should often spread kindness outside of survival mode to build a happier community and self. I recommend reading this post, and reading Kindness Blog’s other posts, as they shares the impact and meaning of kindness.
