The above quote is simply spot on for today’s post, as I dealt with the residual effects from a recent bout of anxiety. Thankfully, it is not an ongoing issue like it once was, and I have a great support system to help me cope with it swiftly and effectively. That said, it has left me with what can only be described as an emotional hangover, but today’s gratitude list really does help deal with this. The three things I am grateful for today are:
The safe return of my daughters and their dad from their vacation. I was happy and relieved that they had a fun trip together, and I was very thankful and relieved that they had a safe and smooth flight back home, It was a warm welcome home indeed!
Family dinner. When I refer to ‘family’, in this case, I am speaking of my two daughters and my ex-husband. We have been divorced for three years, but we remain a family of four who just happen to live in two separate residences. My ex-husband and I share a close bond with one another and are committed to being the best of friends to one another and the best of parents for our two daughters. Trust me, I know fortunate I am that we get along so well, and as we all ate together at his home this evening, I found myself giving thanks for the food and my incredible family.
As the final day in the thirty days of gratitude fast approaches, I find myself feeling tired, but happy and grateful. I will be ending this series on a positive note, so, stay tuned!
Thank you, and I couldn’t agree with you more! Divorce is never easy, even under the best of circumstances, but we made it as painless and positive as possible for each other and, most of all, for our girls. We are so fortunate indeed!
How awesome this is…and how very blessed you ALL are to be able to remain a “Family of four”. May these same blessings continue to be yours. You may or may not know this, but through your words and sharing you not only have given gentle reminders to others but you have touched lives as well. Peace to you friend. 🙂
Your message really means a lot to me, as my hope every time I post something is to be able encourage, entertain, and/or educate at least one person. So, to think that I may have been to touch the lives of others is a mighty high compliment, and I thank you and wish you and yours all the best!

We both seem to share that same wish when it comes to our post! ….and those same “well wishes” are reflected back to you and yours as well. 🙂
