The hour is late, as is this post. So, I will keep the prose short, and the sentiment sweet. I give you my gratitude list for this Thanksgiving Eve:
My family. As I sat in the company of my family this evening in my childhood home, I felt extremely grateful for all of the members of my family. We are all beautifully flawed, and we all have our own unique gifts and talents that we share with one another and with the world. We have our ups and downs, and in the end, we remain a family. For that, I am thankful indeed.
My friends. I am blessed with a very diverse group of friends, and each and every single day, they motivate, inspire, and amaze me with what they do and who they are. They have shown me unconditional love and acceptance, and I love them fiercely and forever am indebted to them for what they add to my life.
A voice mail from my friends’ dad. In addition to my wonderful friends, I am so appreciative how some of their parents have embraced me as one of their surrogate children, especially one person in particular. My friends’ dad called to wish my family and me a very happy Thanksgiving, and his kind message left me feeling so happy and grateful. I am one lucky girl!
For those of you here in the U.S., I hope that your Thanksgiving is one of great joy, much love, and endless gratitude. To all of you who visit The Kindness Blog and That’s Another Story, I thank you for taking the time to read what I write, for your comments and feedback, and for sharing part of my journey. From the bottom of my big heart, I thank you!
As I’m in the UK your posts are always there when I begin work for the day and they cheer me up and remind me to be grateful every morning. Thank you. And a happy Thanksgiving 🙂
Thank you so much for the Thanksgiving wishes and for such a lovely note! I am so glad that these posts spread some cheer across the pond, and I hope your day leaves you feeling grateful and joyful!
Kristi, isn’t it lovely when that unexpected nicety occurs like with the voicemail? My son is home from college and we will have his group of friends over tomorrow night. We have missed seeing them, so it will be fun for us too. Happy Thanksgiving. BTG
