funeral tie

Dying Man, 24, Leaves an Awesome Message That Everyone Should Read:

Soon I Will be Gone Forever, but That’s Okay as Long as Someone Reads This.

I am only 24 years old, yet I have actually already chosen my last tie. It’s the one that I will wear on my funeral (above) a few months from now. It may not match my suit, but I think it’s perfect for the occasion.

The cancer diagnosis came too late to give me at least a tenuous hope for a long life, but I realized that the most important thing about death is to ensure that you leave this world a little better than it was before you existed with your contributions . The way I’ve lived my life so far, my existence or more precisely the loss of it, will not matter because I have lived without doing anything impactful.

Before, there were so many things that occupied my mind. When I learned how much time I had left, however, it became clear which things are really important. So, I am writing to you for a selfish reason. I want to give meaning to my life by sharing with you what I have realized:

  • Don’t waste your time on work that you don’t enjoy. It is obvious that you cannot succeed in something that you don’t like. Patience, passion, and dedication come easily only when you love what you do.
  • It’s stupid to be afraid of others’ opinions. Fear weakens and paralyzes you. If you let it, it can grow worse and worse every day until there is nothing left of you, but a shell of yourself. Listen to your inner voice and go with it. Some people may call you crazy, but some may even think you‘re a legend.
  • Take control of your life Take full responsibility for the things that happen to you. Limit bad habits and try to lead a healthier life. Find a sport that makes you happy. Most of all, don’t procrastinate. Let your life be shaped by decisions you made, not by the ones you didn’t.
  • Appreciate the people around you Your friends and relatives will always be an infinite source of strength and love. That is why you shouldn’t take them for granted.

It is difficult for me to fully express my feelings about the importance of these simple realizations, but I hope that you will listen to someone who has experienced how valuable time is.

I’m not upset because I understand that the last days of my life have become meaningful. I only regret that I will not be able to see a lot of cool stuff that should happen soon like the creation of AI, or Elon Musk’s next awesome project. I also hope that the war(s) in Syria and Ukraine will end soon.

We care so much about the health and integrity of our body that until death, we don’t notice that the body is nothing more than a box – a parcel for delivering our personality, thoughts, beliefs and intentions to this world. If there is nothing in this box that can change the world, then it doesn’t matter if it disappears. I believe that we all have potential, but it also takes a lot of courage to realize it.

You can float through a life created by circumstances, missing day after day, hour after hour. Or, you can fight for what you believe in and write the great story of your life. I hope you will make the right choice.

Leave a mark in this world. Have a meaningful life, whatever definition it has for you. Go towards it. The place we are leaving is a beautiful playground, where everything is possible. Yet, we are not here forever. Our life is a short spark in this beautiful little planet that flies with incredible speed to the endless darkness of the unknown universe. So, enjoy your time here with passion. Make it interesting. Make it count!

Thank you! ~ by ‘mylasttie’

  1. Bless you. You’ve made your voice heard more in this short time than many who have lived to old age. It’s true that it’s not the time you have, but what you do with it. I believe that we’re put on this earth to help our fellow men and be good caretakers. Like you, when it’s my time to go, I would like to know, to be given time to prepare. However, I also believe we should always be prepared since we may not know. 🙂 — Suzanne

  3. Thank you for your beautiful offering. In addition, let us express our gratitude for every moment we have by spreading joy through the simple means of a smile… a friendly handshake… a sincere ‘thank you’… or any other gesture which leaves the world a little brighter. God bless you on your journey!

  4. Fantastic story. Life is short and we are not given a guarantee for even one more breath than our last. Eye opening post about what is really important when you boil all of the things out that don’t really matter or amount to much in the end. Do the things that count for an eternity while you are in the living and then live there. GOD does have a plan for each of us… we need to find him and live it out…

  6. hi Mike, you sound wise beyond your years. I’m truly sorry we won’t have you here for decades to come, but your spirit will carry on and your unique insight WILL make a difference, you must believe that. And I beg to differ, but I think it’s very brave and selfLESS of you to share these thoughts. THANK YOU for making the most of the time you do have here and inspiring the world to be a kinder gentler place. God bless you and grant peace to you and your loved ones.

  7. What a wonderful message, but you know it don’t have to end there. I am a born again Christian and I have a duty to tell you about a life after death. You may not have gone to church in your life time but it doesn’t matter. The bible says in John 3 verses 16&17, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. 17.for God did not send His Son into the world to condem the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. I felt I had to tell you this as when I stand before God myself I don’t want God to say to me why didn’t you tell this man about me. So please I have to give you this opportunity to choose for yourself. God bless. Miriam. X

    1. When reading this, I felt the same as Miriam. We are only here but for an instant, and once we leave this earth we have eternity ahead of us. I pray that you will come to know the love of Christ as he loves you so very, very much. God bless you!

  9. God is great for creating you! You have grown old and wise beyond your years and your wisdom of life is astounding … many will never fathom this. Your words are so true and genuinely resonate your purpose in life for sharing them with us. We all will leave our legacy in here even it only be a piece of a puzzle into the huge picture of life, some colourfull and some just a “piece of the sky” but ultimately we hope to see the final awesome scenic view for which our piece of the puzzle has contributed to. Trust in the Lord for He is the ultimate goal for us all.

  14. You are wise beyond your years. May God bless you. Your story must be what God put you on earth for, you are leaving this earth a better place with your story. Many people live a long life never realizing what you have in your 24 years. I was so touched by your story. I hope your departure will be quick & painless. Again May God bless you mylasttie.🌷

  16. We see, read, are told many things . Inundated by social media messages however your clarity, your sense of being , your awareness is fabulous
It’s saddening that you at 24 are so articulate and that you have to depart so early. Your ripples of wisdom, your words will reach many and WILL make an impact. I’m going to share them with my children and I am going to absorb them too.
Many a day I’m grumpy, snappy, indecisive, rude even and procrastinate on my health, working out and your description of “body as a box” and making it work for the individual
To Leave an impression on the earth

    You have – thankyou

    Take care

I am, at my old age, really learning about God and Jesus, as it’s never too late! Know that the Lord loves you, and soon, you will be home. Thank you for posting. You have made a beautiful contribution for many! xo

  19. Thank you for your insight. You are wise beyond your years. I’m 59 years old and I have always tried to live my life to the fullest and always felt blessed. A beautiful wife, two kids, great friends and a nice home. Then last month I was diagnosed with Hematoma Carcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer). Doctors have given me 8 to 11 months. It’s times like these when I fall short on words. Thank you for sharing. God bless you!

  20. I struggle with depression and associated things, and have done most of my life. It is so easy to hide away and let the days pass by. My dad is also in his last few weeks of life and it hits you how short life is, and how quickly it goes. I want to start living my life, properly, and am going to make a concerted effort every day to work towards that. Thank you for your words and your beautiful tie; whenever i’m struggling I will think of your tie (and smile) and remember your words. Love and light to you on your journey xxxx

  23. Thank you for the write-up. I have heard everything you wrote before, but it coming from you gave it meaning. I am 23years old, and i just imagined myself in your shoes. All i can say is God be with you all the way. Although you will be surrounded by your loved ones, they cant go on this journey with you. But the Holyghost can. He’ll take away fear and anxiety. He will lead you by His hand into that beautiful Kingdom: Heaven!
    Again, God be with you.
