Roger Joseph Ebert (/ˈbərt/; June 18, 1942 – April 4, 2013) was an American film critic and historian, journalist, screenwriter and author. He was a film critic for the Chicago Sun-Times from 1967 until his death in 2013.[3] In 1975, Ebert was the first film critic to win the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism.[4] As of 2010, his reviews were syndicated to more than 200 newspapers in the United States and abroad. Ebert also published more than 20 books and dozens of collections of reviews.


About the Cartoonist

Gavin Aung Than is a cartoonist based in Melbourne, Australia. After working in the corporate graphic design industry for 8 years he quit his unfulfilling job at the end of 2011 to focus on his true passion, drawing cartoons. Gavin launched Zen Pencils at the start of 2012, a cartoon blog which adapts inspirational quotes into comic stories, and hasn’t looked back since.

Zen Pencils has been featured by The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, Slate, Mashable, Upworthy, Buzzfeed, Gawker, The A.V.   1. I got goose-bumps reading this. I didn’t quite get it at first – and then having reviewed it more carefully the second time have come to realize the brilliance. This was absolutely lovely. Thank you for sharing.
